| A mentor is a friend
and guide. A mentor is a member of the community, 21
years or older, who is willing to give of their time to
talk with a mentee and assist them in achieving
academic, behavioral and social goals.
What Do
Students Do?
Students develop personal goals with their mentors.
During the mentor/mentee relationship, pre-teens learn
to take responsibility for their own growth and
development by working toward their personal goals.
Mentees are willing to accept guidance and support
from a mentor. They are also committed to attending and
participating in all scheduled meetings and working with
their mentor through the duration of the program.
Mentees are supported by the commitment of their
parents/caregivers who also interact with the mentor.
Students are open to coaching and feedback from their
mentors.
